Wahoo, or Ono, are one of the fastest movers of the sea, with cruising speeds up to 60 mph. Early European explorers discovered an abundance of Ono near the Hawaiian island Oahu, often misspelling the island as “Wahoo”, and so the fish got its name. Ono are identifiable by their blue back, vertical bars, and shimmery silver sides, changing color when excited. Pelagic species face increasing pressure worldwide. Overfishing, climate change, and the insatiable demand for seafood threatens the food web and ocean ecosystems upon which this magnificent pelagic species depends.

You can support healthy ocean ecosystems by choosing eco-friendly clothing. One rash guard contains the equivalent of 12 plastic bottles. UPF 50 clothing blocks 98% of harmful UV rays from your skin and reduces the sunscreen load on our seas, making this a win for you and the ocean blue.
